Meet the Yoyo Studio crew

The characters of Idea Drawer, Pirate RSS, Globy, Today Before and Talmi.

Edison: a yellow light bulb with a burgundy bow tie, white gloves and sneakers

Idea Drawer

Edison

The organizer. Smart, warm and a little bit smug.

“I’m Edison. An idea just popped up? Great, I’m already filing it in the drawer.”

Edison was born inside a drawer, and he only comes out of it to put more ideas in. He organizes drawers for fun and rolls his eyes at anyone scrolling through a chat with themselves for an idea from August. When an idea runs away, he doesn’t chase it: he sets a trap.

Thanks to Benayahu for the great name ❤️

Lior: a young man with curly hair, a short beard and a yellow hoodie, his hands full of bags

Idea Drawer

Lior

An ordinary guy from the neighborhood and a true gentleman, with his hands always full.

“I’m Lior. Hands full, head full of ideas, and I just say them out loud.”

Bags from the market, a watermelon, a phone, a towel: Lior’s hands are never free, mostly because he carries all of Orly’s bags. His best ideas come with shampoo in his eyes, in the middle of the street or at three in the morning, and they slip away before he can write them down. Little by little, he’s learning to just say them out loud.

Orly: a young woman with glasses, a high ponytail, a turquoise linen shirt and beige pants

Idea Drawer

Orly

The organized one. Every idea goes into her drawer.

“I’m Orly, the organized one. Every one of Lior’s ideas is already saved in my drawer.”

Orly is Lior’s girlfriend and partner. When an idea pops into Lior’s head in the middle of the street, she’s already saving it in the drawer, the very second it pops up. Her hands are completely free: Lior, a true gentleman, carries all her bags.

Nikol: a small, smiling light bulb in a sailor hat and a navy sailor suit

Idea Drawer

Nikol

Small, quick and mischievous. She is the idea itself.

“I’m Nikol. Small, quick, and nobody has caught me yet!”

Nikol, the sailor bulb, is an idea, and like every good idea she doesn’t stay put. She pops up for the Captain on the map, jumps onto his hat and runs off, until she runs into Edison’s trap. She’s named after Nikola Tesla, Edison’s great rival.

The Captain: a giant pirate with a black beard, a tricorn hat and a navy coat

Pirate RSS

The Captain

Crude, loud and full of himself.

“I’m the Captain! I hunt down fresh stories across every sea, and no idea gets away from me!”

The Captain sails the Pirate RSS ship in search of treasure, mostly fresh articles and what people online are saying about him. His genius ideas pop up on the map and run off at exactly the wrong moment, and then he yells “Hey! That was my best idea!” so loudly that Feed shrinks.

Feed: a blue-grey parrot with an eye patch and a burgundy pirate hat

Pirate RSS

Feed

Cheeky, easily offended and bone-dry.

“I’m Feed, the parrot. My job? Being cute on the screen. Squawk!”

Feed the parrot is the Pirate RSS mascot. Every morning he used to fly from island to island to bring the Captain the news, until the app came along and did it for him. Since then his job, in his own words, is “being cute on the screen”. And as a memory he isn’t worth much: ask him what the idea was and all you’ll get is “Squawk!”

Globy: a smiling, waving globe with binoculars, a backpack and burgundy sneakers

Globy Israel · Globy World

Globy

The most curious globe there is. Eager, smiley and always on the move.

“I’m Globy! Give me a map and an interesting fact, and I’m on my way!”

Globy is the star of Globy Israel and Globy World. He loves maps, collects facts from every corner of the world and takes you on a journey of questions, stage after stage. Along the way Nikol whispers hints, Edison adds a fact, and at the end of the journey Globy puts on a gold crown.

Fishele: an old rolled-up newspaper with big eyes and a smile, and a little fish peeking out of the fold

Today Before

Fishele

An old, smiling newspaper with a little fish peeking out of the fold.

“I’m Fishele! Tell me what day it is, and I’ll tell you what happened on it years ago.”

Fishele is the Today Before mascot: an old rolled-up newspaper, the kind people used to wrap fish in at the market, which is why a little fish always peeks out of it. He remembers every headline there ever was, by the Hebrew calendar and the Gregorian one, and every morning he pulls one out and tells you what happened on this very day, years ago.

Galileo: a smiling old astronomer with a white beard, a burgundy cap and robe, a gold telescope under his arm and one hand waving

Talmi

Galileo

A smiling old astronomer, telescope in hand and eyes on the sky.

“I’m Galileo! Look up, and I’ll show you what’s hiding in the sky.”

Galileo is the guide of Talmi, the studio’s astronomy app. He never goes anywhere without his telescope, and what he loves most is taking you out into the night sky and introducing you to the stars, one by one.
