Privacy policy – Globy Israel and Globy World

Last updated: November 3, 2026 · Applies to both Android apps by Yoyo Studio: “גלובי ישראלי” / Globy Israel (com.yoyo.israeltrivia) and “גלובי העולמי” / Globy World (com.yoyo.geotrivia). “The app” below means either of them.

The app has no sign-up and no accounts. The current version shows no ads and contains no third-party analytics or tracking tools; if that changes, we will update this page first. Player profiles, progress, medals and a profile photo (if you pick one) stay on your device. What leaves the app to us: question-mistake reports and feedback, only when you choose to send them; and anonymous usage counts with no identifier of any kind, which you can switch off in settings (this version does not send them yet).

Stored on your device only

• Player profiles: the name or nickname you type, the grammatical gender used to address the player, and the chosen character. An adult profile can use a photo from the phone as its picture: it is scaled down and kept in the app’s own storage only, and never sent anywhere. The photo is chosen through Android’s photo picker, with no gallery permission.
• “Globy Daily” results and the day streak.
• Journey progress, scores, stars, medals and helps.
• Settings (sounds, vibration, kids mode, etc.) and questions and photos downloaded for offline play.

We do not receive this data. If Android device backup is turned on, the operating system may include it in your Google account backup, according to your device settings. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it from the device.

What the app downloads

The app downloads new questions, question photos, a content settings file (stages, medals, colours, icons and texts) and, in Globy World, recorded audio of facts from our server. These requests carry no name, profile, device ID or user ID, only the app name and version. As with any download, the server sees your IP address in order to deliver the files; we do not use it to identify or track you.

Mistake reports (optional)

After answering a question you can tap “report a mistake”. If you send a report, the following is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to the studio’s Google Form:

• the question ID, question text, correct answer and the answer you chose;
• the reason you picked, and your free text if you wrote any;
• the app version, the question-bank version, and the time of the report.

Reports do not include the profile name, character, contact details or any device ID. Please don’t write personal details in the free text. Reports are kept in the studio’s spreadsheet and used only to fix questions. Without a connection, a report waits on the device and is sent next time. In kids mode the report button is not shown.

Feedback and rating

The About screen has a “feedback” button that opens a form inside the app. If you press send, the following goes over an encrypted connection to the studio’s Google Form: your rating (1–5), what you typed (what you liked, what to improve, a wrong question), an e-mail address only if you chose to give one so we can reply, and the app name and version. Without a connection it waits on the device and is sent next time. On a kids profile the button opens the form in the browser. The rating link opens Google Play. Responses sent through the feedback form (including an e-mail address, if one was given) are kept in the developer’s Google spreadsheet, are accessible only to the Yoyo Studio team (the developer and those working with him on the app), and are deleted after 12 months at the latest, or sooner on request to [email protected].

Challenge a friend

At the end of a stage you can send a friend a “challenge” link with the same questions. The link carries only the question IDs, the score and number of right answers, and the profile’s first name, and it goes only where you send it with Android’s share menu. It opens the app, or a page on our site when the app is not installed; that page shows what is in the link and stores nothing. Not offered on kids profiles.

Anonymous usage counts

To learn which questions and stages are too hard, the app can send anonymous usage counts: which event happened (app opened, stage started and finished, a question answered, a share, a medal), the stage number, the score, the question ID and right/wrong, the app version, and the minute (UTC). They contain no name, profile, photo, device ID, advertising ID or user ID, and are sent in batches to the studio’s server over an encrypted connection. The “send anonymous usage data” switch in settings turns them off and deletes anything still waiting on the device. Nothing is collected or sent on a kids profile. In this version sending is off until the server is live; when we turn it on, this page already describes it.

On the yoyo-studio.com website we count visits anonymously, with no cookies and no stored IP address: views per page, which site or link people came from, and how many tried and solved each riddle (never what they typed). Since November 3, 2026 we also count the country (the country only, from the request itself), how long a page was shown (only in ranges such as “30–60 seconds”) and taps on the share button, all as anonymous daily totals. A visitor is counted once a day by a one-way code that changes every day and is deleted; only daily totals are kept. Browsers that send “Do Not Track” are not counted.

Sharing

Share cards (stage end, journey end, “Globy Daily”, the Ultra stage) are created on your device. It goes only where you send it with Android’s share menu, not through us.

Children

The app is suitable for children and has a kids mode with no timer. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: there are no accounts, ads or tracking, and on a kids profile no reports can be sent, no usage counts are collected, and there are no challenge links or phone photos. Parents who believe a child’s personal information reached us can contact us and we will delete it.

Permissions

The app asks for internet access, to download questions and photos and to send reports and feedback. On Android 13 and later it also asks for permission to show notifications, only after you choose the daily reminder. The reminder is a local notification that the device itself shows once a day at about 6 pm (device time), and only if the daily challenge is not done yet. It sends no data, and you can turn it off in settings at any time. Vibration needs no permission and follows the phone’s own touch-feedback setting.

Deletion and questions

To delete a report you sent, or for any question about this policy, email [email protected]. If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with its date.
